International dressage rider, Richard Davison, gave a lecture and demonstration to an audience of 500 equestrian enthusiasts, from the East Midlands and beyond, in the galleried seating area of Nottingham Trent University’s Brackenhurst Equestrian Centre on the evening of Thursday 25 May 2006.

During the event, Richard demonstrated the techniques required for successful dressage using four of his horses from the young horse to international level. The evening kicked off with Richard demonstrating using his top international horse the 13 year old German bred gelding, Hiscox Karachi and later riding Gwendolyn Meyer’s Wallini – a 16.2hh Westphalian chestnut gelding.
Richard’s wife, Gill, also a competitor at International Grand Prix level rode Hiscox Komanchi and the 5 year old Hiscox Aliano and demonstrated training exercises and test riding tips for Richard all the way through to one time flying changes.
Living in Staffordshire but originally from Nottingham, Richard is one of the UK’s leading dressage riders and has competed in two World Equestrian Games, three European Championships, four World Cup Finals and three Olympic Games.
